Luke 2:4-5
So
Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem
the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went
there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was
expecting a child.
They
left the home that they both knew,
A
choice, not theirs to make.
Through
harsh and rugged lands it wound,
That
path they had to take.
It
would not be an easy thing
By
any circumstance,
But
travelling for them, right then,
Was
risky, at best chance.
But
they stepped out, heeding the call,
No
argument they’d voice,
For
Caesar and prophets of old
Had
left them with no choice.
