Matthew
2:10-11
When
they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the
child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they
opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and
myrrh.
They’d
traveled long to find the child
Born
underneath the star.
They
brought with them gifts of great worth
In
gilded box and jar.
They
knelt in awe beside His bed
Laying
gifts at His feet.
They
must have felt relieved to know
Their
journey was complete.
Although
that thought must have vanished
In
the great reckoning
Of
finding themselves face to face
With
Heaven’s newborn King.
How
long they sat in joyous praise
I
guess we’ll never know,
But
I am certain they did not
Hurry
to rise and go.
