I pray You keep Your eye me,
But I think that, instead,
I should pray I keep You in sight,
Your Word in heart and head.
And You do that always.
What I need You to help me do
Is seek You all my days.
It happens with a thought,
And it is from such distractions
Our destruction is wrought.
But help see You, too,
And help me live remembering
Your Word in all I do.
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not
sin against you.
