Neck Deep

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I’m neck deep in it now, Oh Lord,

And not sure what to do.

I guess I can just keep swimming,

But that won’t get me through.

 

Why am I such a stubborn soul?

That, I truly don’t know,

But every time I get neck deep

You remind me it’s so.

 

I like to think I’m in control,

Though that is seldom true.

I often find myself neck deep

Before I call to You.

 

So, here I am once more, Oh Lord,

Neck deep and calling You.

I’ll keep on swimming, that’s my plan,

And pray You’ll lead me through.

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord! O Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleas for mercy!
