There
are a few lines in this life
We are not meant to cross.
While some have obvious results,
Like punishment or loss,
Others
can be harder to see,
While we still walk this earth,
And we pretend that they’re just words
That don’t carry much worth.
But
know this now, without a doubt,
Those lines are clearly drawn,
Though we may disregard them now,
Those lines are never gone.
That
lie we told, those angry thoughts,
The unkind thing we said
Serve no purpose to bless a life,
But cause great pain instead.
The
greed that we excuse as just,
The lust held in our heart,
May feed the longing in our minds,
But it tears souls apart.
So
many lines we just discount,
All to our detriment,
For those lines we are called to walk
Are drawn with clear intent.
They
may seem insignificant
When life is moving fast,
But staying close within those lines
Brings blessings that will last.
Psalm
119:1
Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord!
We are not meant to cross.
While some have obvious results,
Like punishment or loss,
While we still walk this earth,
And we pretend that they’re just words
That don’t carry much worth.
Those lines are clearly drawn,
Though we may disregard them now,
Those lines are never gone.
The unkind thing we said
Serve no purpose to bless a life,
But cause great pain instead.
The lust held in our heart,
May feed the longing in our minds,
But it tears souls apart.
All to our detriment,
For those lines we are called to walk
Are drawn with clear intent.
When life is moving fast,
But staying close within those lines
Brings blessings that will last.
Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord!
