The Choice Each Day

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Each day we have to make a choice,

Who will we be today?

Will we walk in the Word of God

Or let the world hold sway?

 

We cannot walk in wrath and grace,

Nor live both peace and fear.

For wrath and fear poison the soul,

While grace and peace are dear.

 

We need to practice what He preached,

Let rage be slow to grow,

And let us hear with the patience

That He’s asked us to show.

 

We are not called to change the world

By force of our command,

But by the mercy and the grace

We receive from His hand

 

And share with those who cross our path,

That they might come to see,

The choice that we must make each day

Determines who we’ll be.

 

James 1:19-20

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
