He Saved Us. Simple words to say,

Harder to understand.

We are not saved by what we do,

But by His loving hand.

 

All of our works are meaningless,

If works are all we give.

It is by His redemptive grace

Alone that we may live.

 

We cannot preach His Word to all

Or heal the lost and lame

And think that by our words and deeds

Heaven is ours to claim.

 

For it is not in us to save

That which we have broken

And we cannot wash clean the soul

That we’ve immersed in sin.

 

He gave himself in sacrifice,

Offered up in our place,

And it is by His love for us

That will receive grace.
