Light and dark play in my mind,
As hope and worry do,
But I can put them all aside
When I sit still with you.
The light that shows my every flaw,
The dark’s alluring call,
The ever-present desire
To escape from it all.
Each has a claim upon my mind,
But none upon my soul,
For I am Yours and by Your grace
The broken is now whole.
I sit within Your stillness, Lord,
And let Your peace fill me
Until the conflicts of this world
Are but a memory.
I hear Your voice and I can rest
With peace filling my heart.
Light and dark, worry and hope
No longer play a part.
Psalm 116:7
Return, O my soul, to your rest; for the Lord has dealt
bountifully with you.
