As You Have Asked

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The sun is setting through the clouds,

While dusk murmurs softly.

There are things I still need to do,

But You’ve been calling me.

 

Tonight I’ll do as You have asked,

I’ll just be still and know

That You are my eternal Lord

And I’m grateful it’s so.

 

You are the peace for which I’ve longed

While I rushed through this day.

Yet, I refused to listen to

What You wanted to say.

 

I’m sorry I wasted that time

In rushing to and fro,

But I am ready to obey,

To just be still and know.
