As one year moves to conclusion,

Another year will start,

And I have no way of knowing

What this year will impart,

But I know Who is in control,

And Who will lead me through.

Thus, I will face the coming year

With my trust, Lord, in You.

Your Perfect Peace

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tonight, I need to feel Your peace.

As I’ve rushed through this day,

I found myself with little time

To rest along the way.

 

The world can be overwhelming,

And stress a weary mind.

That’s why I’m grateful that Your peace

Is never hard to find.

 

If I just stop and call Your name,

I feel Your peace rush in

To calm the chaos of my thoughts

And I’m at peace again.

 

Thus, at the end of my long day,

When all the rush is through,

I’m reaching for that perfect peace

That’s only found in You.

 

1 Samuel 25:6

And thus you shall greet him: ‘Peace be to you, and peace be to your house, and peace be to all that you have.

This morning, Lord, I saw Your light

Burnish the morning sky.

I heard You speak to me at dawn

Within the eagle’s cry.

I saw Your patience in the clouds

Sweeping the mountain’s crest

And in a robin with her babes,

Your love made manifest,

 

Lord, You are everywhere I look

In every sound I hear,

And all creation reminds me

That You are always near.

 

Romans 8:38-39

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Lessons Learned

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Some lessons I’ve learned the hard way,

Some I’ve learned once or twice.

I will admit that some lessons

Have come at a high price,

 

However, there is one lesson

I must re-learn each day,

And that’s to put my Trust in You,

To live my life Your way.

 

I start each day with great intent

And give it a good try,

But when I do it without You

Things always go awry.

 

I’m learning, slowly, to trust You

Without question or doubt,

But I have faith that, with Your help,

I’ll get it figured out!

Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.

I sought You in the quiet dawn,

And You were there for me.

I called to You in the dark rain,

And You were plain to see.

I whispered to You in the dusk,

I heard Your voice clearly.

And when the dark night fell, at last,

I knew right where You’d be.

 

You’re never far from where I am

Though I don’t always see,

But I am tucked under Your wing,

You keep Your eye on me.
