Of Little Faith

Matthew 8:24-26
Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

When troubles rise like stormy seas
Our faith seems to grow frail.
When we most need to trust in Him,
Our faith begins to fail.

When He formed this world with a word,
And shaped us in the womb,
How can we offer Him a faith
As hopeless as a tomb.

Why do we chose to stand in fear,
When faith is warranted?
Why should we weep, when we can sing
With all our hearts instead?

How dare we not stand in the storm,
Despite the raging waves,
Knowing that He who gave us life
Is also He who saves!
