Psalm
45:8-9
All
your robes are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; from palaces adorned
with ivory the music of the strings makes you glad. Daughters of kings are
among your honored women; at your right hand is the royal bride in gold of
Ophir.
What
make a wedding splendid is
Not
what makes marriage last.
The
pomp and celebration ends,
But
the hard work’s not past.
The
ups and downs that touch each life
Are
easier when shared,
And
blessings matter more that loss
When
lives and hearts are paired.
It’s
not an easy path to walk,
Many
are those who fail,
But
many more learn to stand fast
And
let their love prevail.
Therefore,
let marriage be a gift
That’s
patiently defined,
And
built upon the kind of love
That
God must have in mind.
A
love that’s built on sacrifice,
But
also touched by Grace,
That,
when each looks in their own heart,
They
see the other’s face.
