And Faith Still Happens - Re-Posted

I try to keep my eye on You,
Yet I glance oft aside.
But I don’t fear that I’ll get lost
You keep me near your side.

Faith Happens

I try to walk where You lead me,
But I can miss the path.
Yet I know you will wait for me
Without disdain or wrath.

Faith Happens

I’m never quite where I should be,
Doing what I should do,
But You’ve kept me beneath Your wing,
I'll always trust in You.

Not What We Planned - Re-Posted

He laid the stones that make the path
Two dozen years ago.
And he could not have guessed back then
How fast the blooms would grow.
They spread beyond the tidy beds,
Each neatly planted row,
Until they’d broken up his path
Where they weren’t meant to go.

Sometimes we lay our plans too well,
With everything just so,
But we forget to account for
The things we cannot know,
Like what God has planned for our life,
What tomorrow may show.
We lay our path and then stray blooms
Slip in, to spread and grow.

2 Corinthians 1:17
Was I fickle when I intended to do this? Or do I make my plans in a worldly manner so that in the same breath I say both “Yes, yes” and “No, no”?

A Light Has Dawned - Re-Posted

Breathlessly, in the growing dawn,
I wait to hear from You.
I turn my face toward the light
As sunlight glances through.

I’ve found, for me, it’s in the line
Between the dark and dawn,
When all the world’s holding its breath,
And all night’s fears are gone

That I can sit in reverent peace
And, sometimes, hear Your voice.
Thus I can face what comes each day,
For I have made this choice-
Before I step forth in the day,
I take time to rejoice.

Matthew 4:16
the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.

What I Can't See - Re-Posted

Often my view is obstructed
By all the things I fear.
I see only angst and worry
And not that hope is near.

But You, from Your perspective, Lord,
Can see what I can’t see,
And I know You have laid a path
That leads to joy for me.

I know that I am limited
By my obstructed view,
So I will lean on Your sight, Lord,
To lead me safely through.

Filled With His Glory - Re-Posted

Hosanna, Oh Lord, Hosanna!
I praise Your Holy name.
Your smallest thought easily puts
All earth’s glory to shame.

I praise You with a grateful heart,
Through all that this life brings,
Your glory is the source of light
From which all my hope springs

Psalm 72:19
Praise be to his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen.

Resting In You - Re-Posted

Lord, I needed a place to rest
And I found that in You.
This world can wear me out some days,
Lord, I know that is true.
Yet, when I feel I’m at wit’s end
And nothing else will do,
I let the world slip far away
And find my rest in You.

Matthew 11:28
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

A Place in His Light - Revised and Re-Posted

The light rose from the darkened void
To warm the new formed earth
And each dawn brings a reminder
Of God’s plan for that birth.

Rise up, then, in each new day’s birth,
Rejoice within His Light,
For He has called us Beloved
And we are His delight.

As He spoke Light out of darkness
That we might know His Grace,
Let us give praise that, in His Light,
We each have our own place.

Genesis 1: 3-4
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.

Love Never Fails - Re-Posted

Love
Offers itself in sacrifice
And lifts you when you’re weak;
It holds you when you need to cry
And knows just what you seek

Love
Never vacillates in its faith,
Even when yours is frail;
It puts you first in all its plans
And its strength will not fail.

Love
Is the safest place to keep
The dreams and hopes you hold,
For you’re more precious in its world
Than riches of pure gold.

1 Corinthians 13:4
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs
