Persevering In His Will - Re-Posted

The shadows and the underbrush
Obstructed the small tree,
Preventing it from growing straight,
As trees are meant to be.

Yet through all the adversity
It held on, confident
That it would reach the sun one day,
However curled or bent.

Such faith comes with a great reward,
God’s sees the faithful soul.
He honors those who persevere,
Til His Grace makes them whole.

Hebrews 10:35-36
So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised

Deep in My Own Weeds

Why is the path that I must walk
So over grown with weeds?
They snag at me and pull me down,
And that won’t suit my needs.
There has to be an easier
Path that I can take,
This one is so tangled with weeds
Progress is hard to make.

How did I get on such a path?

I’m much too good for it,
And don’t say it’s the path I chose.
That’s not true! Not one bit.
These weeds are not of my making,
Though some could well be mine.
Could I have truly grown all these
Through my thoughtless design?

That one does look like selfish thoughts

When asked to give my time,
And over there I see harsh words
When my conduct’s not prime.
Oh my, there’s folk that I let fall
When they reached for my hands,
And, sadly, I see many times
That I broke God’s commands.

Oh Lord, I might be on this path

Through all that I’ve done wrong.
Please help me find a better way,
I’ve walked this path too long.

Proverbs 24:31-32

thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins.I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw:

The Rough Path and Peace - Re-Posted

Peace walks before me as I go,
It’s in Your grace, oh Lord.
Though all up hill, I can still walk,
Mind and soul in accord.
I feel a tempest rising now,
Yet in its eye, I’m calm,
For I walk within Your peace, Lord,
It is my spirit’s balm.
So let the storm winds rise and rage
And let the path grow rough.
Your peace and grace will bide with me
And that, Lord, is enough.

2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Dawn's Song - Re-Posted

Each hill reflects the morning’s light,
The river sings at dawn,
And I will join them in God’s praise,
Until each day is gone.

For, when I start my day with Him,
The world falls into place,
And, in the light of each new dawn,
I see His perfect face.

So I will rise up in each dawn
To sing to God on high.
And I will praise His faithfulness
As night is drawing nigh!

Psalm 92:1-2
It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High,
proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night,

This joy filled photo is a blessing from TKS!

Remembering a Beloved Aunt - Re-Posted

The last time that I saw her face

Or got to hug her tight
Was years ago, while she was strong
And still winning the fight.

I always planned to get back there,
To see her once again,
But something’s always going wrong
In every well laid plan.

I missed the chance to say good-bye
And tell her just once more
That she was so precious to me,
Someone I could adore.

Now she’s been on my mind again,
As I moved through this day,
And, if I could get word to her,
I know what I would say.

“I missed my last chance here on earth,
But you found God’s pure Grace,
So I know I’ll hug you again
And kiss your shining face.”

1 Peter 1:23
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God

To all of those whom we wish that we'd had one more chance to hug, to say I love you, to tell them that we will hold them in our hearts forever.

Flowing Straight Through - Re-Posted

The river’s path may wind a bit,
But still its course is true.
It’s bounding through the rocky banks,
From source to oceans blue.

Though my path has meandered some,
Whatever else I do,
I know that, like that river’s flow,
I’m headed straight for You.

The rocky outcrops of my life
May twist the straightest course,
But I know You are where I’m bound
And that You were my source.

So I can’t get lost on the way,
I’m bounding straight on through
Until I reach my journey’s end,
I’ll flow through life to You.

Revelation 22:1
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb

Your Glory Thunders - Re-Posted

All glory to your name, my Lord,
You sing within the dawn,
And with the setting of the sun
Your glory lingers on.

Oh Lord, You thunder through the skies
You roar within the sea,
And yet you offer gentleness
To broken souls like me.

May all Your children heed Your voice,
And lift to You their praise,
That they may dwell within Your Grace
For all their earthly days.

Psalm 29:3
The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.

On The Long Trail - Re-Posted

Some people find their way with ease
Through all life’s winding ways,
They move forward along the path
With an unswerving gaze.

While others are more hesitant,
They pause to think it through.
Checking to see which way to turn,
Unsure of what to do.

They want to walk upon His path,
But life gets in their way
And they are hesitant at times,
Fearing they’ll go astray.

They forget that He’s called their name
And carved them on His hand,
He will not let them go astray
In a dark, barren land.

Yet, though their faith may waiver some,
His love will never fail
And He will keep an eye on them,
However long their trail.

Isaiah 49: 10 & 16
They will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat down on them.
He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water.

See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.
