You took my sorrow from last night

And gave me today’s joy.

You filled me with a perfect peace

That darkness can’t destroy.

 

The night is howling, wind and rain.

But I’m wrapped in Your grace.

I do not fear the bitter storm,

For there’s no safer place.

 

I don’t know why I let the night

Bear down on me some days,

But I will hold onto Your light

And fill this night with praise!
