To Be Your Child

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I give my self up to Your grace

And let go of the sin

That keeps drawing me far from You,

Lord, time and time again.

I know that I’ve done this before,

Just to fall on my face.

I wouldn’t dare try it again

If not for Your kind grace.  

I want to be Your faithful child,

Living a life that’s true

To that standard which once was set

For all of us, by You.  

Please help me, Lord, to get it right,

To not be so beguiled

By that past I’m leaving behind.

Teach me to be Your child.

John 1:12-13

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
