Unless The Lord Watches

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There’s always one who stands on watch

To help, should there be need.

Yet, if the Lord’s not watching, too,

There’s no guard who’ll succeed.

 

There is a limit in this life

To what we can achieve.

Beyond that we must call on Him,

And then have faith, believe.

 

Do all you can upon this earth,

Be vigilant and true,

But understand, without His help,

That’s all that you can do.

 

Psalm 127:1

Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
