The Light Shines

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The darkness can’t hold back the light.

Even within the night

There are a myriad of stars

Shining out clear and bright.

 

It is the same with fear or pain.

They can’t stand in the face

Of love, forgiveness and mercy,

All born within His Grace.

 

At some point we all face the dark,

Lost in our pain and fear.

However long and bleak the path,

His love and grace are near.

 

Don’t quake within that starless night

Or cringe in fear and shame,

Stand up in faith, walk in the light

And hold on to His name.

 

For You are blessed to be so loved,

Be fearless in His might.

Shine out against the grim darkness,

Reflecting back His light.

 

John 1:4-5

In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
