Simple Thoughts, Simple Words

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tonight my thoughts are simple, Lord,

There’s peace and gratitude.

Despite a day filled with chaos,

Such is my attitude.

 

The words don’t flow out as they should,

My thoughts seem to have frayed.

Yet, though my thoughts wandered afar,

Your peace and joy have stayed.

 

I wish I had grand words tonight,

But simple words must do,

And from a grateful, peaceful heart,

Lord, I lift thanks to You.
