Into the Light

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The universe dwelt in darkness,

Until He called forth Light.

He lit the world that we might see,

Yet we still seek the night.

 

We walk through shadows every day,

Flirting with their dark call.

Yet, His Light still shines in the dark,

A hope for one and all.

 

I know that I am a lost lamb,

Afraid that Light will show

All of the scars and all the shame

I don’t want Him to know.

 

But, He has called me to follow,

And dark, with all its might,

Cannot keep me from walking out

Into His perfect Light.

 

John 1: 4-5

In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

Still are the waters on the shore,

Soft is the evening wind.

Blessed is the peace that fills my world

As this day finds its end.

 

Thank You, Oh Lord, for the stillness,

For the peace of this night,

And for the Grace, born of Your love,

That fills it with Your Light.

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

The Little Moments

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Those little moments in the day

When things fall into place

Are the moments we know for sure

We’re standing in His Grace.

 

The kind word spoken by someone

Who took the time to care,

Or maybe just a helping hand

When you had none to spare.

 

So many moments slip away

Unnoticed every day,

But those which remind us He’s near

Will light us on our way.
