The
balance seems to have been lost,
The
world is far astray.
We
ought not have to learn once more
What
we learned yesterday.
Yet,
here we are, back in that rut,
Proclaiming
yet again
That
we will walk, not in The Word,
But
in the will of man.
We
call His name, but without faith
Our
words are meaningless,
And
all the pleasures that we seek
Won’t
fill our emptiness.
We
set our eyes upon the world,
Then
fall into its snare.
Insisting
that we’re in command,
Always
leads to despair.
For
He who formed the universe
Is
still in full control,
And,
until we understand that,
We’re
just one more lost soul.
Mark
7:6-8
He
replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is
written:
“‘These
people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship
me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.” You have let go of the
commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”
