I
have no value as I stand,
No
real inherent worth,
And
yet I’m greatly valued by
The
hand that formed the earth
And
cast the stars across the skies
Eons
before my birth.
I
have not lived a perfect life,
I
am well versed in sin,
And
though I try to be better,
I
fail, time and again.
Yet,
He still treasures who I am,
Despite
who I have been.
I’d
like to say I understand
How
such a love can be,
But,
truly, it’s beyond my grasp,
This
love He holds for me
And
how He sees such value in
What
I see as debris.
But
since He places such value
On
wayward souls like mine,
I
will not question what He sees,
Or
why His love is mine.
I’ll
just be grateful He sees me
Through
eyes of grace divine!
Romans
5:6-8
For
while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For
one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person
one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were
still sinners, Christ died for us.
