Remembering Stillness

I used to know how to be still,

But I’ve forgotten now.
I need to find a place and time
To learn again, somehow.
 
For I can’t hear Your voice as well
When all the world’s a blur
And I’ve been running at full speed
With my wings all a whir.
 
I know that it was more than just
Remaining in one place.
I know it had something to do
With recognizing grace.
 
I’m confident that I will find
My way back into still.
As soon as I can slow it down,
I’m confident I will.
 
Psalm 46:10
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
