When that thought that I shouldn’t think
Begins to form a word,Please put Your hand across my mouth
That it might not be heard.
For there is much power to wound
In some words that I say,
And I should be more careful in
The words that I give play.
Yet I am human and I fail
To remember that thought
Often enough to know regret
For the pain I have wrought.
So, Lord, I turn to You for help,
When thoughts pop in my head
That ought to never be spoken,
Teach me silence instead.
Psalm 64:3
They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim cruel words like deadly arrows.
