Weary, But Grateful

Tonight, I’m too weary to think,
Much less compose a praise.
I try to form thoughts in my mind,
But its one of those days
When all the joy has worn me out
And I am in a daze.

Please, listen to my heart tonight,
It holds words I can’t say,
And it is filled with gratitude
For all You’ve sent my way.

Psalm 86:12
I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.

Waves of Sorrow

It strikes me like a crashing wave
Out of a still, calm sea.
From peaceful joy, sorrow sweeps in
And brings me to my knee.

I cannot think, I cannot speak
As pain sweeps through my heart,
And I know they will never stop,
If I let the tears start.

Oh Lord, You’re all I can cling to
When those waves pull me down.
You are the rock beneath my feet,
And You won’t let me drown.

I know that the waves will draw back,
Peace will return once more,
But until then, I’ll cling to You
Upon that tear swept shore.

Psalm 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

When You Called

You cast the stars across the sky
And called them each by name.
You bade the mountains rise to You,
You called them and they came.
The wildest creatures of the earth,
At Your command grow tame,
Now You have called me to be Yours
Your glory I proclaim.

Matthew 4:21-22
...and he called them. Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
