I Don't Fit In

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I never really have fit in,

But that’s okay with me.

I don’t give it a second thought,

That’s how it’s meant to be.

 

For if You’d made me more like them,

Then I’d be less like You,

And, for a child that’s born of Grace,

That simply will not do.

 

Lord, I do not need to fit in.

All that I need to be

Is planted firmly in Your Word

Where Your Light touches me.

 

John 9:5

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

Perfect Peace

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There is stillness in the inlet,

Soft colors brush the sky,

A gentle breeze touches the leaves

As it whispers on by.

 

I longed to feel this peace all day,

Though it eluded me.

Tonight it is my answered prayer,

As You meant it to be.

 

While I may walk within the world,

I live within Your grace.

I can’t imagine living life

In a more perfect place!

 

Isaiah 26:3

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

Lord, it was quite the day today.

I’m glad it started right

When I paused to thank You and pray

For strength to face the fight.

 

I didn’t know then that the day

Would be that hard on me.

Despite my plans, there seemed so much

That I did not foresee.

 

I was so grateful through the day,

Despite my battered soul,

That up or down, that win or lose,

You were still in control.

 

I’m glad I gave this day to You.

With all I didn’t see,

I don’t know how I’d have survived

If all I’d had was me.

 

I don’t know, as the day begins,

What each new sunrise brings,

But I will give each day to You,

And trust You in all things.
