Psalm 82:3-4

Psalm 82:3-4
Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

When we walk through these troubled times
We need to count blessings,
But then we need to share those gifts
As water from well springs.

Let them flow from a loving heart
To others still in need
That we may bless, as we’ve been blessed,
Without self-serving greed.

The day will come when we need help,
But this is not that day.
So, lend a hand, lift someone up
Who’s fallen by the way.

He’s the stream of living water,
But we can clear the flow,
That those who live in barren lands
Might have a chance to grow.

Psalm 81:11-12

Psalm 81:11-12
“But my people would not listen to me; Israel would not submit to me. So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices.

He always let us make the choice,
But choices can wrong.
I’ve ended up too many times
On a path that’s too long.

I’m too stubborn to turn around
And head back the right way,
But I’m to proud to ask for help
When I bow down to pray.

I just keep slogging through the muck
Until I must give in
And ask You, in my great despair,
To lead me back again.

Why do we choose to go astray,
When You give us a choice?
Why can’t we live within Your rules
And listen to Your voice?

Psalm 80:3

Psalm 80:3
Restore us, O God; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved.

I will not fear the thunder clouds,
Nor looming night’s grim face,
For I have my heart fixed on You
And I stand in Your Grace!

The wind may tear trees, limb from limb
Or crush them to the ground,
But I am rooted in Your Word
Where perfect peace is found.

Th raging waves may rend the shore,
The rivers scar the land.
Yet, I will sing with boundless joy,
For I rest in Your hand.

The world is not an easy place,
It wasn’t meant to be.
Still I rejoice within The Light
That You sent to save me!
