Our Strength, Our Sheild

The Lord’s our strength when we’re in need,
The rock on which we stand,
And we will rise against the dark
To fight at His command.

The innocent who cannot run
Shall hide behind His shield,
And we will guard them by His might,
For His love does not yield.

We do not seek the path of war,
But, if its darkness falls,
Then we will stand up in His strength
And answer as He calls!

Psalm 144:1
Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle;

Standing In Faith

We stand in faith throughout the day,
But in the dark of night
We find ourselves worried or stressed
And questioning what’s right.

I, too, have struggled with doubts through
Many a sleepless night,
Forgetting that You are as near
As You are in day’s light.

How can we claim to live in faith
When we give into fear
Each time we wake up in the night
And let worry draw near.

Faith, by its nature, is the truth
That His plan is in place
Whether we see it with our eyes
Or rely on His grace.

It matters not the time of day,
Faith does not need the light
To hold on and to understand
We’re always in His sight.

2 Corinthians 5:6-7
So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight.

Hard Days and Blessings

I sat down to count up my woes,
Number them one by one.
Yet, when I’d finished, what I found
Was not what I’d begun.

I set out counting what went wrong,
Which led to what went right.
It took me all day to add up
Each blessing and delight.

Yes, I still struggled with the world,
It’s been a rough few days,
But I am grateful to You, Lord,
And I will sing Your praise.

In fact, I thank You for tough times.
It’s a strange thing to say,
But all those hard days remind me
That joy is on the way.

Psalm 30: 11
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
