Psalm
144:3-4
Lord,
what are human beings that you care for them, mere mortals that you think of
them? They are like a breath; their days are like a fleeting shadow.
We
are so insignificant,
Fragile,
to say the least,
And
yet, we are given a gift
Above
each bird or beast.
You’ve
given us a mortal life,
With
a soul born in You.
We
may be just a passing breath,
But
one that You value.
You’ve
taught us to follow Your Word
And
we fail every day,
Yet
You correct and redirect
Us
back upon the way.
We
walk in arrogance and pride
At
all we have achieved,
When
all we have is from Your hand,
Your
gifts that we’ve received.
I
cannot fathom what You see
In
wretched souls like mine,
But
I’m grateful You see in me
That
spark of Your design.
