Step Out

I need the courage to step out,

This is no place to bide,
Though I feel safest in my nest,
I cannot sit and hide.
 
There is a part of me that fears
To face the rising tide,
Yet, also, there’s another part
That says take wing and ride
 
Upon the fierce back of the wind,
Taking the risk in stride.
For answers find those who seek them,
Not those who stay and hide.
