More Than Listening

I heard You, Lord, I understood,

But I think my way’s best.
I’ll give my way another try
Before I let it rest.
 
I know You’ve told me what to do,
I promise I heard You,
But I think my way just might work
So I will push on through.
 
Oh Lord, of course I heard Your words,
I listened intently,
And I’ll get on it in a while,
I don’t see the hurry.
 
It’s all becoming clear, Dear Lord,
At last I’ve thought it through.
I have to do more than listen,
I also need to do!
