I’ve walked this earth for many years
And seen all kinds of sin.
There have been far too many, Lord,
That I’ve partaken in.
Of my Shepherd’s mercy,
And I would ask You, by Your grace,
To cleanse my sin from me.
And a forgiving mind
That I may offer others, Lord,
The same mercies I find.
Let go my restless soul,
That I may never lose hold of
The peace that makes me whole.
Remove from me all stain.
May Your Light reflect from my soul
And no darkness remain.
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast
love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me
thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin! Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast
spirit within me.
