Not An Easy Path

 
The path through life is not easy,
And we’ve all gone astray.
Either by error or design,
We got lost on the way.
 
This is the way that life has been
Since we left Eden’s gate.
Arrogance led us far from Him
And won for us this fate.
 
The one comfort I take in life,
Is knowing, right or wrong,
The path I take, my Shepherd sees,
And His love remains strong.
 
Those lambs who stay close by His side,
Are blessed beyond all doubt,
But those who choose to wander off
Soon learn what fear’s about.
 
The night grows dark, the wolves close in,
And we see our mistake.
We cry out to Him, He is there.
We’re saved for His love’s sake.
 
For that is why He came to earth,
To save those who are lost.
It mattered so much to Him that
He paid a fearful cost.
 
That’s why when He brings lost lambs home,
Rescued from life’s travails,
All of the heavens sing with joy,
For His grace still prevails!!

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
