In Solitude, But Not Alone

I spent the day in solitude,
Now I count my blessings.
Among them is a peace filled heart,
For which my spirit sings.

I may not always recognize
When I need to be still
And let His peace flow into me,
But I trust that He will.

For He knows me inside and out,
Each hope, and need and fear,
And when I cry out in His name
I know that He will hear.

I may have chosen solitude,
But I was not alone,
For He who knows, and loves me still,
Kept watch from Heaven’s throne.

Romans 8:38-39
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
