To Mark The Seasons

Within the dark half of the year
Time weighs down on my mind.
The light of summer, springs bright joy,
Both seem so hard to find.

Yet, that is only because I
Give the dark too much space
Within my thoughts, when I, instead,
Should focus on Your grace.

The seasons come and then move on.
Light gives way to the night,
Until the seasons turn once more
Back to the summer’s light.

You made the moon to warm the night,
The sun to mark the days,
And I will rest within the truth
That You guide all our ways.

As I move into winter’s darkness,
I’ll keep my eyes on You
And let Your light fill me with peace
Enough to see me through.

Psalm 104:19
He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting.

This amazing photo of the sun rising beside the setting moon was taken in an airplane this morning, by ATF. What an amazing shot!
