I gaze across the rippled waves
That reach beyond my sight,
With every new horizon there
Proclaiming your great might
And filling my heart with wellsprings
Of absolute delight.
You laid the earth out to your plan,
You raised the mountains high.
You spread the oceans shore to shore
Beneath a changing sky.
You cast your eye across the void,
You marked it with your hand.
You raised the mountains from the sea
And fixed the surging land.
You filled the seas with teeming life,
The air with joyful song.
You breathed upon the continents
Where life began to throng.
Then you shaped man to share your love,
Rejoicing all along.
Proverbs 8:27-29
I was there when he set the heavens in place, when he marked out the horizon on the face of the deep, when he established the clouds above and fixed securely the fountains of the deep, when he gave the sea its boundary so the waters would not overstep his command, and when he marked out the foundations of the earth.
