Born of Light

We’re born of light, to live in light

And to defy the dark.
For this, the Lord of Light and Grace,
Breathed into us a spark.
 
He gave us, not a heart of fear,
But one made fierce with joy
That we might hold the dark at bay,
To be bold and not coy.
 
He calls us to rise up and shine,
To push back on the night,
That we might cast across the world
The promise of His light.
 
We’re born of light and we are called
To shine out through the world
That all who live within the dark
Can see His Grace unfurled.
