They sprang forth in abundant joy,
Washed in life’s newborn hue.
Though time will deepen each leaf’s shade
And burnish quite a few,
They still reach out to cup each breeze
That joyfully bounds through,
For life’s not lived by fearing fall
But making summer do!

2 A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
