I lift a prayer up from my heart,
Please bless this little one.
She has a spirit filled with joy
And love for everyone.
She never barked an unkind bark
Or left a shoe unchewed.
She turned my weary, crabby heart
To one light and renewed
But now she needs your tender grace,
She’s fighting for her life,
For she may even find herself
Beneath the surgeon’s knife.
So, Lord, with all that’s on your plate,
With all that’s asked of you,
I know it’s selfishness to ask,
But please tend to her, too.
