Listening For Your Voice

I breathe and let the evening light

Wash gently over me.
I haven’t had much time of late
To just sit still and be.

I’m grateful for the work I do
And those who share my walk,
But sometimes I need to take time
To just sit and not talk.

I love to listen for Your voice,

Take time to step away
From all the chaos and worry
That seems to fill each day.

I don’t do it often enough,
And that is all on me.
I think it’s time I make the choice
To change my strategy.

So, I will meet You here each day,
I’ll make a conscious choice
That it is my priority
To listen for Your voice.

Psalm 85:8
I will listen to what God the Lord says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants— but let them not turn to folly.
