Patient Impatience - Re-Posted

I never was a patient soul,

But I will wait on You.
And even though the wait is long,

I’ll gladly see it through.

For your timeline’s not quite like mine,
You view is longer, too.
You see the things that I look past,
Things I don’t want to do,
And know that those steps I would skip

Will help me to reach You.

So, though I wish this part was done,
I’ll do as I’m asked to
And I will wait upon You, Lord.
