Stray Blooms - Re-posted

He laid the stones that make the path
Two dozen years ago.
And he could not have guessed back then
How fast the blooms would grow.
They spread beyond the tidy beds,
Each neatly planted row,
Until they’d scattered through his path
Where they weren’t meant to go.

Sometimes we lay our plans too well,
With everything just so,
But we forget to account for
The things we cannot know,
Like what God has planned for our life,
What tomorrow may show.
We lay our path and then stray blooms
Slip in, to spread and grow.

2 Corinthians 1:17
Was I fickle when I intended to do this? Or do I make my plans in a worldly manner so that in the same breath I say both “Yes, yes” and “No, no”?
