Heaven and Earth

There was that evening, long ago,

That helped me understand
What is meant by “heaven and earth
Are both within God’s hand.”
 
I saw the moon rise through the trees.
As it came into view,
It crested past the mountain’s peak,
Washed in a pastel hue.
 
There in that moment, as they past,
They both lay in God’s hand
Heaven and earth, there side by side,
Answering His command.
 
Deuteronomy 10:14
To the Lord your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it.
