You stayed with me as I went out,
Then brought me safely home.Now I am settled in tonight
With no desire to roam.
The world was turbulent, at best,
With threats right from the start,
But you were there to shelter me
And ease my worried heart.
So thank you for the protection
That kept me safe today,
And thank you, Lord, for this still place
Where cares slip far away.
