I had things laid out right to plan,

Filling my victory cup.
I was soaring to a big win…
And then life tripped me up

Disaster snagged me by the foot,

I fell flat on my face.
I knew that I’d never break free
Unless I called for Grace.

I felt life drag me to my knees,

It tore my pride away.
With all my flaws exposed to God,
I raised my hands to pray.

Life may still have me by the heel

And I’m trapped for a while,
But God has laid a path for me
So I’ll wait with a smile.

Ecclesiastes 9:12

Moreover, no one knows when their hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so people are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them.
