Between Heartbeats

Today has been a crazy blur

And everything passed by so fast.
Before it ends I must find time
That I can spend with you at last.

I need to step back from the rush,

And take some time to just be still;
Let the world slip out of focus
So I can focus on your will.

In the silence between heartbeats,

Where you wait patiently for me,
I can hear what you are saying
And grow to be who I should be.
