All the struggles of our lives,
The worries that we bear,
Will not bring us one day of life;
No matter how we care.
The stresses that we choose to face
May turn our hair to gray,
But they won’t give us one more week
Of joy or of dismay.
The aggravations of this life
Are things we have to face,
Yet we must work within ourselves
To keep them in their place.
A small place where they’re out of reach
When each crisis is past,
So that we may, one day, escape
The shadow that they cast.
For if we cling to troubles past
And never let them go,
Then we will not reach for the joys
That God wants us to know.
Luke 12: 25-26
25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
