Love and Friendship, by Jenn Kinney
Alone in the darkness,
Only a solitary candle
Flickering in desperation.
Yet its small, weak flame
Casts light all around
And fills the whole room
As it burns. It grows in strength,
Brighter casting its glow.
When strong and stout,
The candle shares it's flame
To light a nearby wick.
Two candles burn together
Brighter than the one.
Few shadows yet remain.
Soon like the daylight shines,
These flames dispell the night
And bathe us with companionship
Which began with one small spark.
