Patient in Tribulation

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Thank You for the endless joy

That touches every day,

And for the struggles that I face

That remind me to pray.

 

Thank You for encouraging me

To live life joyfully

And sharing that joy, in Your name,

With those who walk with me.

 

I thank You for the broken past

That lead me to find grace.

Within the whirlwind of this life

Lord, You’re my peaceful place.

 

Tonight my list of thank yous, Lord,

Is greater than most days.

Because it’s been harder than most,

It warranted more praise!

I listen to the tapping rain,

The wind chimes sing along.

It is as if all of my world

Is joining in the song.

 

A song of joy, a song of praise,

A song born in a soul

Once shattered by the path it walked,

But now, redeemed and whole!

 

To many, it’s a stormy night,

But all I hear is praise

That lifts my spirit into joy

And brightens all my days!

Tonight my mind has lost its place,

My train of thought’s off track!

I hoped that with a little time,

My mind might wander back.

 

However scattered my thoughts are,

At the end of this day,

I know they’ll find their way back home

When I sit down to pray.

 

You are my anchor in the wind,

The strength that pulls me through.

However scattered, when You call,

My thoughts come back to You.
