Psalm 28: 6-8

Psalm 28: 6-8
Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.

Oh, how my heart sings with Your praise.
I lift my voice in joy,
For You have called me by my name,
And my heart won’t be coy!

You’ve marked my name upon Your hand
And hold me safe from harm.
I hide within the protection
Of Your mighty shield arm.

Though enemies may hunt me down
Like wolves upon the trail,
Still I know Your mercy is great,
And that You will prevail.

You are my mighty fortress, Lord,
My refuge and my strength,
Though I may cry out in despair,
You’ll calm my fears at length.

And I will stand up once again
To sing You songs of praise.
You are my savior and my hope
And You will be always!

Psalm 27:13-14

Psalm 27:13-14
I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

I long to see a different world
Than that which I see now.
I’d like to see us make it so,
But I don’t quite know how.

I’d like to see the truth be told,
And not an easy lie.
I’d like to see an end to all
The tears that children cry.

I’d like to see faith live in hearts
That have known only doubt,
And watch hope dawn in long lost souls
Such as they’ve dreamed about.

I don’t know that I’ll ever see
Such miracles as these,
But God is working in this world
And I can find great ease

In trusting that, in His own time,
We’ll see goodness grow strong.
For God promised it will be so,
And He is never wrong.

Psalm 26:2-3

Psalm 26:2-3
Test me, Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind; for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness.

I grew up knowing You, Oh Lord,
And I belong to You.
I never doubted You love me
Or that You’d see me through.

But there are those less fortunate,
Who have not heard Your name,
And they don’t know the redemption
That each of us can claim.

I know that when I call on You,
That You are always there,
And, whether it is Yes or No,
You answer, for You care.

I pray for those lost in the world
Who weep in their despair,
Because they’ve never heard Your name
Or know how much You care.

I pray for those trapped in their sin
With no hope of release,
Because they do not know Your love
Offers healing and peace.

I pray for those who fear Your name
Without knowing Your Grace,
If they but knew what I know, Lord,
They’d seek out Your embrace.

Lord I have known You all my life
And I’m grateful, it’s true,
But I pray for those still seeking
Who do not yet know You!
